Hello everyone, long time no see. I haven't been posting anything for almost two months, which is pretty irresponsible considering people still visit my blog regularly. And if you're wondering, the next chapter for my book will most likely be out late this month. For a couple of month, I've been craving to read a good romantic book. I've tried searching for some, and this is my first pit-stop. You might be seeing some romance book for the next couple book reviews. Enough about me and let's get on with this review. I've read Rock and a Hard Place, it is a book written by Angie Stanton and it was published in 2011. It is the first book of The Jamieson Collection series, the first book focuses onn Peter, the lead singer and leader of the band.
The High and the Low
.The book is a nice, light read
.I have to say that I actually liked the cover.
.Somehow I felt the story lacked something
.The character wasn't as memorable as I hoped them to be
Summary
Libby is an eighteen year old girl who lives with her aunt after being ditched by her father, she mostly keeps away from other people. She tends to stay near her home (which is not in the city) and just draw the day away until one day she sees a tour bus stopping near where she usually sits. There she meeth Peter Jamieson the lead singer of the Jamieson, Since she rarely watches the telivision and hear the radio, she doesn't recognize them.
Peter is the leader of the band, every girl wants to date him. Truthfully he is sick and tired of all of it, he wants to feel like a normal kid which is impossible when you're basically the most popular boyband in the country. One day he meets a young girl named Libby, he expect her to fawn over him like any other girl does, suprisingly she doesn't even know them. ..................................................that's all for the summary
The conclusion
I have a somewhat mixed reaction to this book, the book was nice and light like I expected it to be, but I felt that it lacked something that made the book empty. I'm suspecting that it was because that Peter doesn't interact much between Libby's life while Libby doesn't interact in his. I have to say that I actually liked the cover of this book (it's the one where Libby is hugging Pter), some of you might know that I loath cover with real people on it but in this case it barely showed their faces and the colour and background of the book suited it tremendously. The biggest downside was that the supporting character wasn't strong enough, like I said before they rarely cross with other people in their life which made them somehow empty. Anyone. who's looking to read a nice young adult romance book is welcome to read it but don't expect much or you might be disappointed.
Rating: 7 out of 10
(I've thought of giving this book a six but I decided that it deserved more, until next time)
