Hunger Games Movie

I bet probably all of you Hunger games Fans have already watched the movie(I watched in on the 2nd day)so for the fun I'm going to review the mvie instead of a book this week. The Hunger Games is movie directed by Gary Ross.It was released on the 23rd of March.it receive positive reviews with many critics applauding Jennifer Lawrance potrayal as Katniss.

The good
.Most of the cast does a fine job.
.The movie is quite faithful to the book
.

The bad
.The movie may confuses people who didn't read the Hunger games
.Some parts of the book lacks the Wow factor the book had

Quick summary
Every year The capitol will randomly pick a boy and a girl from each district to compete in the Hunger Games where they have to kill each other until there is one. This year Prim was chosen so Katniss volunteers for her instead.Peeta mellark gets chosen for the boy tribut(contestant)....that's all I'm going to say you all probably heard a longer summary elsewhere anyway.

The conclusion
Hunger Games is a really great movie. It is quite faithful to the book.the cast gave a great performance especially Jennir lawrance and Elizabeth Banks but sadly some part lacked like Rue's Death to me the book was sadder because in the book we could feet the bond between Katniss and Rue(eventhough their alliance wasn't very long)but in the movie i couldn't feel it.I would love tgo see more parts when peeta gave Katniss the bread but the movie just showed glimpses of it.Finally for the people who haven't read it yet it might be a little confusing.Who was the girl who keeps runnning away(foxface)the movie only mention the name "Foxface"once, so for some people they might not understand why she did that or this, the watcher might not even know that she is smart(the only hint is she playing a weird game that need fast thinking). The Hunger Games is a great movie while it lacks a wow factor it will definitely please fans and non readers alike if the can get through some confusion that is.

Beyonders:A World Without Heroes

Hello everybody The Hunger Games will be released less in two days and I'm really excited since early reviews are really positive.Anyway last week I read Beyonders:A World Without Heroes by Brandon Mull(the author of Fablehaven)It was published in 2011.

The good
.While the premise of the story isn't that original as you go on in the story some parts definitely will definitely feel more fresh and and original.
.The characters are quite likable.

The bad
.I didn't quite like the cover.
.Lacked some character development.

Quick summary
Jason is just an average teenager who hopes something more out of the ordinary in his life. One day he is transported to another world called Lyrian. He learned that Lyrian is controlled by a powerful wizard named Maldor. He accidentally learns one of the keyword that can destroy Maldor so now Maldor knows of Jason existence and wish to destroy him before he could do so.Jason and Rachel(another person who was transported here)must collect all the keywords if they ever wish to go home. While on their journey they......................That's it I guess.

The conclusion
I for one was quite suprised when I finished the book and found almost nothing that feels childish. When I read Jack Blank and the Imagination I could feel some parts of the book was written for kids but Beyonder suprised me the story still felt for young teens but it had a darker and more satisfying tone so even older teens can enjoy it(Just saying I never had any boundary age for reading I could even read an Enid Blytn if I want to)What Beyonder lacks is on the character development some characters dissapears too fast as they emerge but luckily I liked the characters so in some way it did make up on the lack character development.Beyonders is a book written for young teens but with it slight dark tone evn adult can at least find enjoyment in it.

Your Thought

As everyone know no The Hunger Game's Movie will be shown onn the 23rd of March but before that what's your opinion towards the trailer.Do you think it will fail to capture the essence of the book.Do you think Jennifer Lawrance and Josh Hutcherson will make a good Katniss and Peeta.I do hope that it can measure up to the book. You are welcome to write your thought.

Fowers in the Attic

Last week I read Fowers in the Attic. When I bought it I didn't know kind of story it is I just bought it because of the nice looking cover.(yes I buy books from looking at the cover)The book was written by Virginia Andrews and it was published in 1987.Supposedly it is based on a true story.

The good
.The story is told very nicely
.The cover was very nice
.I were glad on how the story ended

The bad
.The characters weren't likable I hated almost every character in the book.

Quick summary
The Dollanganger children(Chris 14,Cathy 12,Cory and Carrie 5)receive a terrible lost when their father died.Their mother Corrine couldn't afford to live in the house anymore so she decided to ask her mother if she could move in with her children. The grandmother agrees but she asked Corrinne to hide the children in the attic because her husband cannot know she had children with her husband(why will be explained in the book)Corrine asked the kids to stay quietly in the attic until their grand father passes away and she will inherit his fortune but as time pass by....................

The conclusion
When I finished reading Flowers in the Attic I seriously hated almost every characters in the book.Yes Chris and Cathy too.I couldn't entirely blame on what Chris and Cathy did to them since they were locked in the attic without knowing any better(maybe Chris did)but I still hated them for not doing anything but to me the story was nicely told.Sad and depressing but nicely told.I'm not saying that I'm recommending this book to everyone but to anyone who wants something a bit different they're welcome to try Flowers in the Attic.
