The Pinhoe Egg

I'm sorry but once again I decided to read a book I already owned byt don't worry I haven't posted my review for it yet.The Pinhoe Egg is a book written 2006.It was written by the late Diana Wynne Jones and it is a book from the Chrestomanci series and a continuation from Charmed Life.It is the last book she wrote for the Chrestomanci series.

The High and Low
.The story is as interesting as ever.
.The characters were charming.
.Really loved the cover.

.Some characters were underused.

Quick Summary
Cat was just sitting there when he heard Janet and Julia talking about horses.Julia asked Janet to ask her father for horses because she felt that Chrestomanci will be more lenient on her because what happended to her.Chrestomanci agreed to buy a horse for them eventhough he's not fond of the idea. After a series of situation Cat ended up owning the horse.chrestomanci asked him to care for the horse properly meaning no magic.Marianne(The second protagonist of the story)needs to take care of Gammer's Cat(Gammer is the title given to the woman's chief)because Gammer is not in a stable condition and the other villagers want her to move with one of them so it would be more easier to look after her.Because of this Gammer's house is now unoccupied and they decided to sell to someone(to a Pinhoe to be exact)you see all of the villagers use magic as they please so they try to hide their action from Chrestomanci fearing he would stop them from using their magic................................................................That's all I'm going to write

The Conclusion
I already said this and I'm going to say it again,Diana Wynne Jones is one of the best fantasy ever lived. This may not be her strongest book but she rarely dissapoints me.Diana Wynne Jones had a knack of making charming characters. Most of them are full of life relatable and almost never annoying.Charmed Life was written in 1977 and this book was published almost 30 years later but Jones still managed to capture the essence the first book had.The book also had a great cover, always a good thing in my opinion. My biggest complain was how Jones didn't use musch of her suppoting characters I would love to read more about Millie,Joe and especially Janet she was basically non existance in this book.I would had really loved to see her interact with cat more like she did on the first book. This book was the last of the Chrestomanci series and it is the seconnd book to future Cat and I really glad that Jones managed to make this book great.

A Series Of Unfortunate Events:The Reptile Room

Yes I'm being a cheapskate once again and decided to rummage my little brother's closet.Since he dooesn't mind me reading any of his book I decided to read A Series Of Unfortunate Events:The Reptile Rool.It is the second book of the thirteenth part series. It is written by Lemony Snicket in the year 1999.He once again asked us to read a book which will be more cheerful.

The High and Low
.The story and characters are charming
.Nice Illustration

.I felt that this book was somewhat inferior to the first book.
.I also felt that the book was too similiar to the first one

Quick Summary
The three children now live with a relative of their called Uncle Monty he is a kind man and he is excited  that the children is staying with him.The Baudelaires are excited because they're going to an expidition next week they thought that it was the end of their very bad luck but they were wrong.Uncle Monty hired a new assistant after his previous one left and this assistant was none other than Count Olaf who is wearing a disguise. He threathens them not to tell Uncle Monty about his identity. The Baudelaires felt curious on why was he even here.He doesn't even have a right to any of them anymore he couldn't take their fortune even if he wanted to but the children still felt suspicious and decided to report to uncle Monty when Count Olaf was busy.Unfortunately Uncle Monty doesn't believe them and thought that his assistant was a spy who wanted to steal a snake that he just discovered a while a go to...........................................That's all I can say.

The Conclusion
I felt somewhat dissapointed after reading this book.Truthfully I was looking forward on reading this book as I felt the first book was relatively depressing yet it managed to show it's charming side as well.As I read on this I still managed to find those essence in this book but it felt inferior to the first book. The Baudelaires is as charming as ever but I felt other character lacked something I really liked Count Olaf in the first book but I couldn't like him as much in this book.I also felt that the story was a tad too similiar to the first one.actually there is nothing wrong with a book being similiar to its predecessor but this time the other characters was lacking the story was less adventurous.I'm a bit worry about what is going to happen in the other books, will it be similiar to the first two books if yes I'm not sure whether I'm going to continue reading this series.I will probably give the third book a chance in the not so near future. While this book failed to captivate me, fans or a slightly more younger reader than me probably wouldn't mind reading this book and would think that I'm crazy for hating this book.

The Assassin's Curse/暗殺者の呪い

Now you are probably suprised on why is there some Japanese Letters on the title. You see I've been learning Japanese for a while now and an "acquaintance" of my friend keeps stressing me on how I should practice my Japanese more often by chatting to someone in the internet so I decided from now on I'm just going to write my review in both english and japanese. However because my Japanese isn't that good I will probably try to simplify it as much as possible for now and just saying I can't actually read or write Kanji that well I probably can recognize the most basic Kanji so I'm probably going to use a Kanji Transalator in my post.I'm just telling you this because sometimes the transalator isn't that good and makes mistake so I'm just telling you that you may find some errors on my post. Now I'm already getting a headache on thinking on how willl I transalate my post from now own I will start writing the Japanese version of my post on January.I read a book called The Assassin's Curse last week.It was written by Cassandra Rose Clark. It was published in 2012 and it is the first boom of the series.

The High and Low
.The book had a gorgeus cover
.The characters were great
.The story was told brilliantly and it felt refrshing

.The book was too short

Quick Summary
Ananna of The Tanarau is forced to flee after her parents decided that she will marry Tarrin to ally with another pirate clan. While he is a very handsome man she just can't marry someone like that and decided to flee when he wasn't looking but by doing this she has angered Tarrin's Parents and the decided to send an assssin's after her.Knowing her life is in grave danger she asked for a strange woman's help who gave her a spell to send the assassin to another place where he will never disturb her again.Somehow the spell didn't work and she is forced to defend her life using a knife. When the were fighting she saw a snake coming closer to the assassin without any further thought she killed the snake and because of that she activated a curse that binded them together now he has to protect her from danger while looking for a cure for this curse.........................That 's all I should say because this book is rather short and I don't want to spoil anything

The Conclusion
Actually I bought this book because it had a promotion and not to mention it's gorgeus cover. While a lot of people would argue about that I simply can't resist a good looking cover like this.Ananna and Naji are both great characters they managed to show me that not all Young Adult characters are the same yes while i did praise characters from books like Unspoken,I still felt like the characters lack something. The biggest suprise for me was the story. The author really suprised me sometimes I felt like I was reading a Diana Wynne Jones novel because of it's wit and the characters charm. As you open the book Ananna mentions something that a lot of young adult heroine should have known and the line was "I ain't never been one to trust beautiful people"imagine if all of those heroine followed this line wouldn't it make their life a whole lot easier.Ananna and Naji does have something going on between them but it light and their relationship doesn't actually go anywhere by the end of this book and thank goodness for that.I always felt that the characters from a lot of books were rushed and I don't mind for the characters to take their time at least for the first two books.I forgot to mention that I felt the book was too short because on back cover it had a sypnosis and while it did deliver on what it had said it only gave us a preview on what to come,I don't actually mind the length though because sometimes a good book can really turn sour if it goes on too long.(You will probably understand what I'm saying if you read the book)The Assassin's Curse is probably the best book I read this year and it probably is one of the best young adult book written this year.
